Insert the Topaz Systems Inc. Disc. A pop up box should appear. Select “Run sigpluscolor57.exe”. Once it has been selected Topaz will begin installing.
Select “HSB (USB connection)” in the “Select Connection Type” box. A License Agreement box will pop up. Select “Agree” to continue.
An installing box will appear, wait until its finished installing and select “yes”. After selecting yes a “SigPlus Documentation Directory Box” will open. Click OK.
A ”SigPLus Plug-ins, Tools, and Examples” box will appear. Click OK.
A “HSB Support” box will pop up. Click OK then finish. You can now plug in your Topaz Signature Pad into the USB.
After plugging in the Topaz Signature Pad the screen on the pad should light up.
To assign a document to the Topaz Signature Pad go to the “Admin” tab at the top of the page. Select “Integrations” on the left side. Close to the bottom right you will see a box labeled “Signature Pad” click the small plus sign by “New Document” button. From here you will be able to create your custom documents.
To create a New Document click the "Add New Document" Button.
Options For New Document:
The top box is where you can write the information you would like displayed on the Signature Pad. [It is recommended to take your current Letters (HIPAA, Sig On File, CL Release, Etc) and paste them into this box]. Then you can fill in the blanks (name, dob, etc) with the variables from the pop-up window.
A. When this document is saved set the Signature
On File Date to Today's Date
B. When this document is saved set the HIPAA Signature to Today's Date
C. When this document is saved set the Primary Signature On File to Today's Date
D. After Signature Save this document to Patient's File Section [displays options E,F]
E. Type: The Type of File being saved
F. Description: The Description
G. Brings Up Windows With List of all possible Variables to Insert into Document
H. The Name of the Document
I. Button to Create the Document
J. List of All the Documents On File
K. Displays Default Document When Certain Buttons are Pushed
Open your CrystalPM. At the top after the “File” tab click the configuration tab and select “Signature Pad”
Select a test patient and go to the “Additional Info” tab, you should be able to see two “Sig Pad” buttons by “Billing Info”
Click on the top “Sig Pad” button to test it out. The writing on the screen should appear on the pad. You will be able to control the pad from your Crystal. After a signature you will see a pop up stating “Signature Captured”
If you have the File Save Option checked it will save a PDF version of the file (with signature) into the Files Section. It will also mark today's date into Signature Date Boxes if you have that configured as well.
There are 3 Images that you can customize on this device. Once the device has been installed properly and a test signature has been run through the System, 3 new files will appear in the Crystal PM folder.
1) screen_saver.bmp - This is the screen that is displayed when the device is not currently being used. Many offices display a custom promotion.
2) sigBox.bmp - This is the signature image on the bottom of the tablet.
3) thankyou.bmp - Displayed after a Signature is captured.
You can modify these images, but keep them the same size and type.
